Based on the Decree No. PF–5416 dated 16.04.2018 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures for the radical improvement of the activities in the religious-educational sphere,” the International Islamic Studies Academy of Uzbekistan was established, and its educational-scientific structural unit was organized.
The faculty operates in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education” and “On the National Program for Personnel Training,” as well as the regulations approved by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Order No. 159, May 30, 2008) “On the Faculty of a Higher Education Institution” and “On the Departments of a Higher Education Institution.”
The faculty is an educational-scientific and administrative division of the International Islamic Studies Academy of Uzbekistan.
The faculty’s activities include the following fields:
5120600 - Religious Studies;
5160100 - Islamic Studies;
5120300 - History (Islamic history and source studies);
The main tasks of the faculty are as follows:
To train highly qualified specialists capable of solving theoretical and practical tasks before state and public organizations in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Education” and “On the National Program for Personnel Training” in the bachelor’s degree fields of “Religious Studies,” “Islamic Studies,” and “History (Islamic history and source studies),” meeting modern requirements;
To coordinate the scientific research activities of the departments within the faculty.
The faculty may cooperate with enterprises, institutions, organizations, and foreign educational institutions based on agreements concluded in the prescribed manner to expand the integration of education, science, and production and to increase the effectiveness of education and upbringing.
The faculty conducts the training process of specialists in a full-time (daytime) format, separated from production. To improve the efficiency of the educational process, new divisions may be established within the faculty, taking into account the requirements of personnel consumers and the specifics of the field.
The faculty unites departments related to the bachelor’s degree fields included in its structure, as well as other departments close to the faculty’s specialization in terms of activity content.
Three departments operate within the faculty:
“Department of Religious Studies and Comparative Study of the History of World Religions UNESCO”;
“Department of Islamic Studies and Study of Islamic Civilization ICESCO”;
“Department of Islamic History and Source Studies IRCICA.”
