"Department of International Relations"
The department was established in August 2024 within the Faculty of Islamic Economics and International Relations as a result of the "International Relations" program.
The department trains specialists at the bachelor's and master's levels in the fields of "International Relations," "Jurisprudence (Islamic Law)," and "International Journalism," and provides education in the subjects "Philosophy" and "Legal Foundations of Freedom of Conscience" for all academic programs.
As a department producing specialists, its goals and objectives include:
- Deep mastery of the fundamentals of specialty subjects, their objects and subjects, and related scientific concepts;
- Thorough acquisition of logically substantiated knowledge about the main categories of the specialty's scientific direction and pressing issues of contemporary world politics;
- Understanding the role and characteristics of international relations, Islamic law, and international journalism in the field of social cooperation;
- Mastery of the main theoretical approaches related to the specialty and good knowledge of problematic blocks of modern international relations;
- Possession of special knowledge in methods of scientific analysis of international processes, searching for solutions to related problems, and mastering decision-making methods and mechanisms;
- Qualification to prepare written analytical reports and other official documents related to the specialty;
- Training specialists who, in addition to their native and Russian languages, are fluent in at least one Eastern and one Western language.
International activities of the "International Relations" department
Cooperation with foreign universities.
- Established cooperation with M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University, which is ranked in the Top-500 QS ranking.
- Cooperates with Kazakhstan's Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Malaysia's University of Malaya, and National University of Malaysia, with planned participation in lectures.
- Conducts student exchange classes with M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.
International grants:
The department's faculty members are active in the WTO Chairs grant project of the World Trade Organization under the Call for Application Phase III 2022-2026 grant and the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Center for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue – KAICIID grant.
Foreign training and internships:
- Online course "Child Rights Matter - Права ребенка - Bola huquqlari" by the international organization UNICEF as a foreign qualification course.
- Won an internship grant from the Innovation Development Agency for studying the higher education system of Finland.
International cooperation events:
- "International Cooperation Week" event within the framework of the UN founding day.
- International symposiums on the topic "Philosophy, culture of the Turkic-speaking people: history, present and future" are held.
SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITY
The scientific potential of the professors and teachers of the "International Relations" department constitutes 84%.
In the 2023 calendar year, the department's professors and teachers published:
- 1 textbook,
- 5 teaching manuals,
- 5 monographs,
- 97 scientific articles, including 56 in foreign and 41 in national scientific journals.
The department annually organizes an international symposium on "Philosophy, culture of the Turkic-speaking people: history, present and future" and a national conference on "Social and political aspects of the integration and development of cooperation among Central Asian countries."
WORKING WITH TALENTED STUDENTS
The department has established the following clubs:
- "International Relations"
- "Young Philosophers"
- "Street Law"
From the 2023-2024 academic year, the "Political Arena" club started activities in the International Relations program.
Regular roundtable discussions and seminar-trainings on modern geopolitical processes and issues in world politics are also held for talented students.

DEPARTMENT MEMBERS AND THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibility of the department members is to teach students at a high level in the subjects specified in the curricula. They also engage in scientific research and actively participate in educational and moral-enlightenment activities.
Highly qualified theoretical professors, including doctors and candidates of sciences, as well as experienced practitioners, teach students on specialty-related educational programs. They regularly improve their qualifications at scientific centers and educational institutions in Uzbekistan and abroad. In the educational process, alongside traditional teaching methods, they use innovative approaches based on advanced pedagogical technologies, including individual and group forms of distance learning via the internet system.
STUDENTS OF THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS PROGRAM
Admission to the "International Relations" program began in the 2018-2019 academic year. Among the students are winners of various competitions, including the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan's scholarship and several international and national contests. One of them, Sabina Khudoyqulova, was awarded the "Imam Al-Bukhari" state scholarship in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the 2023-2024 academic year, 4th-year students of the "International Relations" program—Kamolakhon Yusupova received the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan's state scholarship in "International Relations," and Kamola Esanova was awarded the "Imam Al-Bukhari" state scholarship.
