In 1999, at the initiative of our first President Islam Abdug‘aniyevich Karimov, Tashkent Islamic University was established, and in the same year the university Information Resource Center began its activities.
Taking into account that the contingent of the International Islamic Studies Academy of Uzbekistan has increased year by year, at the Information Resource Center 271 a reading hall with seats was established. In order to create favorable conditions for students, a department of fiction literature, 56 -seat “Book cafe” was organized as such.
The ARM holdings contain educational literature in 7,412 titles and 74,200 copies. Of these, scientific literature consists of 1,310 titles in 12,613 copies, textbooks 1,392 titles in 19,879 copies, study guides 1,232 titles in 30,295 copies, fiction 3,149 titles in 8,122 copies, other literature 273 titles in 2,723 copies, as well as literature in Braille script in 82 titles and 838 copies, and 11,808 full-text electronic resources. (4,200 of them are kept in the special collection of the Imam Moturudi Scientific Center). In 2023, a total of 90 titles in 775 copies of literature were purchased for the ARM holdings. Of these, 73 titles in 245 copies were fiction, and 17 titles in 530 copies were scientific literature. In 2023 14 titles 32 copies of newspapers, 24 titles 28 subscriptions to journals in copies were organized, of which 7 journal titles are periodicals published in the Russian Federation.
In 2018, the information-resource center received 491 titles in 656 copies of literature in various fields (economics, history, technology) from the U.S. Embassy.
The unified electronic library system of the Information-Resource Center of the International Islamic Studies Academy of Uzbekistan was launched. In this system, all electronic resources of the Information-Resource Center are being uploaded to the system on a sequential basis.
At the Information-Resource Center, book.iiau.uz website was launched in April 2021, and to date 7608 electronic and 1674 audio books have been uploaded. The demand for the available literature is being studied, and the literature with high user demand is being scanned.
Book.iiau.uz Through the program, membership in the electronic library is being carried out systematically. Today, 2618 students have been registered as electronic members. Through this program, a video tutorial assisting students in independently completing ARM membership remotely has been posted on the Telegram channel.
In addition, in accordance with Order No. 225 of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education dated July 13, 2022, and pursuant to the instruction to convert the book collection fully into electronic form and place it on the unified “Electronic Library” platform under the ministry, the book collection of the information-resource center is being fully converted into electronic form and placed on the “Electronic Library” platform.
To date, by the Information-Resource Center 74000 copies of literature have been provided with a special barcode. Work is underway to provide newly acquired literature for the archive collection with barcodes.
Also, for students with disabilities, 52 audio textbooks by title, 56 titles and 738 copies of scientific literature in Braille script, and 2 Braille-script computers were installed in the student dormitory and 2 in reading halls, and NVDIA program (for visually impaired students) was installed.
At present, the ARM has a total of 26 computers, of which 21 are in the ARM reading hall, 5 are in the student dormitory. In addition, the ARM has 2 printers, 1scanners, 2 copiers. For multimedia tools and book presentations, there are 1 Smart TV, 1 regular television, 2 vertical, and 2 horizontal infokiosks. Based on students’ needs, QR code boards for important textbooks and study guides were created and placed in crowded student areas.
Through the wireless network, computers are fully provided with internet access. Internet speed is 11Mbps (according to the latest data obtained, the information was taken from the fast.com website). 11.19 Mbps download, 3.21 Mbps upload (data obtained from spped.test.net).

The “Ziyo” Media Center under the International Islamic Studies Academy of Uzbekistan is a media institution that widely promotes the true humanistic essence of religion in our country, the rich religious and scholarly heritage contributed by our ancestors to Islamic and world civilization, and conveys news in religious and educational life to the public.
In order to ensure enjoyable summer recreation for the professors and teachers of the International Islamic Studies Academy of Uzbekistan, as well as visitors, the Academy Recreation Area was established amid beautiful natural surroundings near the Gʻazalkent Reservoir in the Boʻstonliq district of Tashkent region.
Sheikh Khovandi Tohur memorial complex – in the 19th century, Shaykhontohur was one of the four dahas of the city of Tashkent, and it bordered the Beshyog‘och daha to the south, the Ko‘kcha daha to the west, and the Sebzor daha to the north.
