In accordance with Presidential Decree No. PF-5416 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 16, 2018, “On measures to radically improve the activities of the religious and educational sphere,” the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan was established on the basis of Tashkent Islamic University and the Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan.
2025saw the adoption, on April 21, of a Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to further strengthen guarantees of citizens’ right to freedom of conscience and to bring reforms in the religious and educational sphere to a new stage”, and in accordance with the document, the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan was renamed the International Islamic Studies Academy of Uzbekistan.
Academy graduates are today successfully working in almost all ministries and agencies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, major international organizations, and leading local and foreign companies (firms). The Academy has a significant role behind the achievements they have attained. Each graduate not only possesses knowledge and skills, but also embodies the Academy’s distinctive culture, traditions, and taste, becoming a true example for young people.
Foreign students are admitted to the Academy by interview on an exceptional basis. Classes are conducted in Uzbek and Russian. The creation of English-language classrooms is planned in the near future.

Information about the Information Resource Center of the International Islamic Studies Academy of UzbekistanIn 1999, at the initiative of our first President Islam Abdug‘aniyevich Karimov, Tashkent Islamic University was established, and in the same year the university Information Resource Center began its activities.
The “Ziyo” Media Center under the International Islamic Studies Academy of Uzbekistan is a media institution that widely promotes the true humanistic essence of religion in our country, the rich religious and scholarly heritage contributed by our ancestors to Islamic and world civilization, and conveys news in religious and educational life to the public.
In order to ensure enjoyable summer recreation for the professors and teachers of the International Islamic Studies Academy of Uzbekistan, as well as visitors, the Academy Recreation Area was established amid beautiful natural surroundings near the Gʻazalkent Reservoir in the Boʻstonliq district of Tashkent region.
